Description Bronze wall hanging mask. One in a series of four different created by Dale Dunning. Dunning often uses found objects as the basis for his sculptures. In this case, hand carved antique wood decorative elements used early in the last century to adorn furniture have been assembled, molds created, and then, using the lost wax process, he has constructed the bronze masks. These are the Artist's Proofs, and the masks will be produced in an edition of 7.

Dale Dunning holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. While earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Mt. Allison University, NB, he studied under Lawren P. Harris (son of Group of Seven member, Lawren S. Harris) and George Tiessen. Dunning has exhibited across Canada and his work is held in private, corporate and public collections including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Robert McLaughlin Gallery, McIntosh Gallery at Western University, Carleton University Art Collection, and the National Library of Canada.
