Two part aluminium sculpture, the larger piece with signature, stamped with date 1970 and numbered G7.
The smaller piece stamped with initials and dated 69 and letter G
These works from the Argosy series by Thornton explored the interrelation of colour and form.
Thornton's sculpture is represented in major international private and public collections including: the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Arts Council of Great Britain. -
