Cesare Tiratelli 1864-1933
Born into a painting family in Rome in 1864, the young Tiratelli started training early under the supervision of his painter father, Aurelio, and won his first local competition at the age of ten. His uncle Pio Joris was a painter of international fame. In the tradition of his family, he eventually enrolled in the Accademia di San Luca in Rome, but continued to participate in exhibitions with his father. The young artist at first dedicated himself to his father's passion for landscape but soon encompassed other types of genre scenes, winning numerous awards at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome. -
