Here for your consideration is a original oil on artist board painting by the Rhode Island artist, Charles Gordon Harris. The scene depicts the fishing Port of Galilee in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Circa 1945. Condition: Very good. Signed by the artist lower right. Housed in original painting 17 by 19 inches.

Joseph Mason Reeves Jr. was born in Washington, DC, the son of Admiral Joseph M. Reeves. Following graduation from UC (1917) and naval service in WWI, Reeves studied art at the PAFA, Corcoran Gallery (Washington, DC), Academies Julian and Colarossi in Paris, and the British Academy of Arts in Rome (1922-23). He then worked as a portraitist in NYC, Norfolk (VA), San Francisco, and Los Angeles where he was associated with MGM Studios from 1928-34.
