Description
Providence, Rhode Island
Signed, A L Bodwell ‘89.
Watercolor on paper.
29”h x 51”w, 35” x 57” with frame.
Over-all in great condition, uniform toning and some foxing. Appears to be in the original frame. Although little is known about Albert Leroy Bodwell, he was a very talented draftsman and watercolorist. With accurate precision and great attention to detail, this townscape view of Providence captures Victorian life during the late 19th c. -
