Description 3 panel embossed leather screen.
Each panel is 72" high x 20" wide.
There is a screen of the same dimension and quality of manufacture patterned with birds on pine branches and attributed to Rene Lalique in the permanent collection of the Hakone Museum, Hakone, Japan. The Peacock design in this exceptional screen is exquisite and conforms closely to Rene Lalique's designs for peacocks in fabric of 1906 (Marcilhac, p. 38) and in particular to the peacock centerpiece illustrated in "Art e Decoration" in 1900 and exhibited by Lalique at Agnew in London in 1905.
