Description | An Unusually Large And Imposing Solid Walnut Late Louis XVI Commode With Original Veined White Marble Lobed Top Possibly Southern France. The original white veined repaired marble top with moulded edge with lobed bossed corners to the front above a plain frieze, the commode with two full length drawers both with shield shaped escutcheons, set to either side with long panels with bronze lion mask handles, the drawers flanked by circular fluted tapering legs below a boss set with roundels, each leg terminating in stiff leaf form carved foot and raised on a ball. |
