Bernhard Rohne Acid Etched Brass Credenza or Console for Mastercraft, c. 1970s

$ 14,600
  • Description
    Hand-etched brass credenza or console by Bernhard Rohne for Mastercraft circa 1970s. This piece is truly furniture that's art. Artist Bernhard Rohne's acid etching technique on bronze produced some of the most uniquely beautiful pieces for Mastercraft - all are different. Rohne also applied the technique to dining tables, dining chairs, mirrors, buffets, and more. This particular console or credenza is the largest of Bernhard Rohne's pieces for Mastercraft and translated into a larger canvas for Rohne to create. The acid etching both absorbs and reflects light in balance. With grains as unique as any natural hardwood, each piece is a commemoration of that moment in time when it blossomed into a Bernhard Rohne piece. Here the level of detail varies on the door fronts and is very strong on top. See photos 1 & 2. The credenza has a most beautiful patina reminiscent of the work of Philip & Kelvin Laverne. Patinated brass trim and legs purposely frame Rohne's art. Six doors with heavy brass pulls in applied patina open into three gold interior cabinets. This particular piece is in incredibly good condition.
