    BIOGRAPHY
“Beyond its aesthetic success, a work seems to me to be successful in its ability to generate descendants, for me, it is the witness of its depth.” Erwan Boulloud.

After graduating from the Boulle School in 1995, Erwan Boulloud acquired a unique know-how that he put at the service of different creators, then in the setting up of collections of major museums such as the Louvre, the CNAM, or the Natural History Museum. In 2003, Erwan opened his own workshop in Paris and then in Pantin. There, the creation begins, with a preamble, a work on the material: metal, wood, concrete, glass; mineral or vegetable; raw, burned or polished, shelled, reconstituted; he seeks to reveal the depth of it. Each creation represents the snapshot of an evolving history where the movement is inscribed and perceptible. Works follow one another, creating lines, bifurcations, crossings, disappearances and mutations. “Humble, passionate, honest, surprising, subtly pugnacious and openly free, Erwan Boulloud is one of the jewels the world of contemporary design has to offer. He is an innovation revolutionary and an avant-garde creative. Each of Erwan’s creations are a challenge that take him to new heights as if ingenuity, creativity and the limits of physics and materials did not apply to him and to all those who one day have the chance to work in his workshop. Erwan breaks down material frontiers and the laws of physics by following his ambitions, his visions, his convictions, his dreams… His “declinations” as he likes to describe them, are all pretexts to explore the limits of the impossible of his know-how. More than a sculptor or a designer, Erwan Boulloud, through each of his creations, is the figurehead of a know-how without limit and without pretension, a know-how that symbolizes French excellence and that sublimates all the Matter of earth and that live offer to us”. Galerie des Lyons.
His creations are made in a single piece or in a few numbered copies.

Message from Seller:

Founded in 1986, the Galerie des Lyons is a family business, originally an art gallery specializing in painting and bronzes from the 19th and 20th centuries, it has diversified since the new generation represented by Benjamin des Lyons and Laure Mutti des Lyons to become a hybrid space dedicated to the art of living and contemporary collectible design.
