French 18th Century Solid Walnut Commode
-
Description
A handsome and substantial solid walnut commode from early 18th century France. Made there circa 1720, this outstanding three drawer case antique has been completely carved by hand and pegged together with a timeless Provincial style. The curved and shaped front sets the stage for this gorgeous antique, with those fanciful lines found in the skirt, legs and carved side panels. Large, round brass pulls and escutcheons adorn the drawer fronts and have been hammered with the figure of a laying stag done in wonderful repousse. There are no keys included with the antique.
