Description
This wonderful solid walnut secre?taire a? abattant was constructed in the period of Louis XVI, circa 1780. A single, slim drawer at the top features brass drop ring pulls and a decorative escutcheon that matches throughout the piece. The front of the desk folds down to reveal an interior outfitted with six smaller drawers, a pigeon hole and space for organizing. With the front laid down, its backing becomes the work surface. It has been topped in burgundy colored leather. Below this is another compartment that can be locked to secure its contents and includes a single shelf. Make sure to view the detailed images.
