This commanding burled-elmwood buffet, in the Biedermeier style, is from 19th century France. This large case piece has been finished in exceptional burled-elmwood veneer that is in great antique condition. Three carved, corbel brackets give the otherwise flat façade some depth. The buffet has four drawers that are set over four doors. The two panel-front central doors and middle drawers are large and wide, with two more narrow, smaller drawers and doors at their sides. The central doors contain a working lock and close before a deep interior that has an adjustable shelf. The entire buffet is lifted by styled umbrella feet. c. 1880. -
