French Flame Mahogany Empire-Style Enfilade
-
Description
Beautifully book matched mahogany envelopes this stately French Empire enfilade from the late 19th century. A beautiful slab of shaped green marble sits atop the breakfront body and is in wonderful antique condition. A small break to the front right corner has been professionally repaired. Three drawers can be found in the apron – all with working locks and extraordinary gilt brass ormolu. Beneath these drawers are three interior storage cavities, each with an adjustable shelf inside and concealed behind lockable doors. They are separated by iconic Empirically-styled columns which have brilliant brass collars at their bases and capitals. All locks are functional on this handsome case antique with five total brass keys – all done with palm motif handles.
