Frits Henningsen (attributed) Rosewood and Lacquered Chest on Stand

Description
An unusual Chinese Export-style console, constructed with the highest level of craftsmanship typical of the finest Danish cabinet makers. The rosewood upper case has inset leather top and drawer fronts, and traditional brass pulls. The wood base is paint lacquered a deep maroon. The design is very similar to another example sold at Sotheby's, attributed to Frits Henningsen.

Origin: Denmark Period: 1950-1979 Materials: Lacquer, Leather Condition: Good. Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Leather shows significant staining, which can likely be minimized through conservation at buyers request. Base was likely previously lacquered, and shows scattered scratches.
