Mid Century Modern End Table / Cabinet in Walnut by George Nelson

$ 2,995
  • Description
    Title: Mid Century Modern End Table / Cabinet in Walnut by George Nelson for Herman Miller, USA, c. 1960's

    About: As rare as it is architecturally captivating this exceptional end table / cabinet has recently undergone a comprehensive and transformative restoration process. The mix of solid and veneered European Walnut has been completely refinished and brought back to it's original luster by using the same techniques and materials originally used in the Herman Miller factory. The only non-original detail we added was ebonizing the hand pull to match the tone of the base offering a new take on the classic design.

    Designed by the iconic George Nelson during what was arguably the peak of the American Modern Design Movement alongside the likes of Alexander Girard, as well as Charles and Ray Eames (whom headed the design team at Herman Miller) the timeless design of this petite cabinet has made it coveted amongst designers and collectors alike for decades. Featuring a single adjustable shelf with more than ample storage space for an end table this cabinet is truly as practical as it is aesthetically pleasing. With very few of these models available for sale in North America and fewer still in such excellent restored condition this case piece won't last long. Make it yours today before it's gone forever. Currently available with matching three drawer dresser / end table.

    Condition Details: This iconic end table / cabinet has recently undergone a comprehensive and transformative restoration and we absolutely love the results! Painstakingly disassembled, sanded and refinished in accordance with the same techniques and materials used by the Herman Miller factory during the 1960's this process was truly a labor of love for the design and the designer. Though there are some minor signs of vintage wear the remain, such as light surface scratches and minor areas of discoloration (all of which can be seen in the photos provided) this fantastic case piece is in overall excellent condition. The hinged door opens and closes with ease and features an adjustable shelf. This exceptional petite cabinet is highly functional, structurally sound and ready for a lifetime more of use. Please view all photos for details on this table's current condition. We're limited on the amount of media we can post so additional photos and videos in natural light are available upon request.
