Sold Sold
  • Description
Single-doored original and greatly restored neoclassical Biedermeier Armoire from Austria about 1820.

Lovely book-matched walnut veneer, shellac hand-polished (French Polish).
Five inlayed ebony Biedermeier escutcheons. The door is on the inside veneered with ash and has an old lock. Ebonized half-columns and in-between trims.
Inside with 4 inlay plates, covered with black cotton fabric.

These kind of furniture are so called "Faker Armoires", as they are looking like a secretaire at the front, but instead it is a just door for an armoire.
