Early 18th Century Swedish Baroque Commode with Historic Paint
-
Description
Exceptional Gustavian three-drawer dresser with historic paint, made in Sweden circa 1750. This Swedish commode is painted a natural ecru hue that complements the warm pine wood showing underneath the surface. Honest age has given it the desirable texture and patina that is so sought after by collectors. Curved serpentine facade on the otherwise restrained silhouette, raised on bracket feet. Three dovetailed drawers are appointed with brass foliage escutcheon and pulls. Nicely sized, this commode is a functional storage piece ideal for the bedroom.
