Description
A small sized cherry blanket chest from Ohio retaining its original decoration, with vibrant green panels with floral decoration in the front and rampant lions on the side panels. The chest is signed on the base: Geo Young/Roann Ind possible for George Young (b. 1818), a farmer from Roann, Indiana. Circa 1840; height: 25½"; width: 37½"; depth: 17½".
