19th Century English Chest of Drawers with Faux Finish

Sold Sold
  • Description
An excellent four drawer English chest of drawers from the end of the 19th century. The chest is trimmed in a faux bamboo, an element of Asian influence that is sometimes found in antique English pieces. The chest has been expertly painted to look like it is made from beautiful blonde pine. The top two drawers are smaller, and each is outfitted with a regal, brass lion ring pull. The bottom two drawers are larger and each has two brass lion ring pulls. A shaped skirt can be found below the drawers that incorporated itself into the chest’s bracket feet. The paint has acquired an aged patina that gives this charming antique even more character.
