Description
A Rococo engraved bone and pewter inlaid walnut two drawer commode. Italian, Lombard, ca 1760. CF: The central cartouche dwarfs most likely inspired on Stefano Della Bella's engravings after the Callot Dwarfs.

Origin: Italy Period: 18th Century Materials: Engraved bone and pewter inlaid walnut. Condition: Good. Minor scagliola replacements to bone inlay. Replaced lateral section to top nosing. Minor repairs to veneer losses. Hardware of later date removed and plugged. Original backboards and drawer liners. Creation Date: Circa 1760.
