Description
A handsome single door mahogany French Empire armoire with mirrored front made circa 1870. The large front door is outfitted with an immense mercury glass mirror that is original to the armoire and lightly foxed. The door is flanked by two mahogany columns that have Corinthian style capitals in brass as well as ornate brass bases. More brass ormolu can be found about the cornice as well as the base. The veneered mahogany has been brilliantly book matched, creating balance and symmetry for the wonderful mahogany. Opening the door reveals the armoire’s interior. Equipped with five shelves and two lockable drawers, the finished interior has plenty of room to keep your belongings out of sight.
