Mattheo Thun 'Laguna' glass and gold metal table lamp for Artemide. This lyrical design casts a warm and softly diffused light in its surrounding environment. Executed in handblown milky white glass with crystal finish at the top mounted on a gold painted aluminium base. According to Thun, "The lagoon of Venice was the main inspiration: Its fascinating atmosphere, its light and its mist. The character of the collection reflects its main material: handblown glass from Venice”.

Born in Italy in 1952, Matteo Thun co-founded the Memphis Design movement in 1981. Having trained as an architect, his practice promotes designs which are simple in appearance but complex in meaning. The winner of many awards, in 2004 he was inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame.
