Description Two vintage "Boalum" snake-like lamps designed by Livio Castiglioni and Gianfranco Frattini for Artemide in 1970. Each lamp's sturdy structure is made of translucent, flexible PVC reinforced with resin terminals; the incandescent bulbs throughout link with flexible connectors. "Boalum" lamps can be tied in knots on the floor, rolled up on a table, draped over furniture, or hung from the ceiling--the possibilities are fun and endless. Featured in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Philadelphia and the Museum of Italian Design in Milan. This pair is from the original production run that spanned 1970 until 1983; each lamp contains two sections. Each have "Artemide Made in Italy" molded in the resin terminals. $3,800 each; two available.
