The domed and banded column jar with Stålhane's celebrated hares-fur glaze. The extraordinarily subtle glaze lends this distinctive lamp an indefinable quality.
Signed: Rorstrand cipher (R with 3 crowns), CHS Sweden 241.

Carl Harry Stålhane (1920-1990), legendary art ceramist, was chief designer of Rörstrand pottery until 1973, when he established his own workshop, Designhuset. His work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the National Museum in Stockholm, among others.
