Pair of Mid-Century Modern Black "Cp1" Sconces by Charlotte Perriand in Aluminum
-
Description
The legendary 20th century designer Charlotte Perriand created these iconic and sophisticated "Cp1" wall sconces in France, circa 1950. They feature a swiveling rectangular aluminum front plate painted matte black that swivels, artfully concealing the bulb. With their monochromatic palate and austere form, they would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. Born in 1903, Charlotte Perriand refined her design sensibility working in the studio of Le Corbusier. Her work offers a study in the simple perfection of great design, combining austere forms with a subtle palate to create an aesthetic that is inimitably her own. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent condition.
