Fratelli Martini Art Deco Revival Cantilevered Polished Chrome & Glass Sconces
-
Description
This stunning pair of geometric Art Deco revival sconces were designed by the great Fratelli Martini and realized in the United States during the latter half of the 20th century. They feature volumetric pentagonal shades in polished chrome that face up casting light towards the ceiling. The shades fit into the cantilevered polished chrome support via groove and tongue support. In the center of this lustrous chrome support- that extends outwards from a rectangular canopy in the same material- there is a volumetric rectangular sheet of glass in a rich celadon hue (a color that recurs throughout art deco design). With its dynamic use of contrasting geometric forms and graphic silhouette, these sconces would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Art Deco to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent vintage condition.
