Rare Early Pair of Gae Aulenti "Pipistrello" Telescopic Lamps, circa 1966
-
Description
Designed in 1966, the Pipistrello lamp gets its name from the similarity the shape of the light diffuser has to bat wings. A beautiful and innovative design, the painted black steel base supports an adjustable height neck and four-sided white plastic diffuser. We acquired this pair from the original owner who bought the two lamps in the 60s. 4 x E14 bulbs each. Both signed. Both bases have some dings and dongs but nothing that would affect these beauties. Absolute normal usage due to age.
To be on the safe side, the lamp should be checked locally by a specialist concerning local requirements. -
