Description Gaetano Pesce pursued architecture in the belief it was the most complex and challenging art form. Whilst studying, prevalent modernist sensibilities failed to inspire him. He felt modernism’s hyper-rational forms stifled individual expression. He thereby pursued his own radical aesthetic using silicon, a material that makes exact replicas of his designs impossible. The maker’s humanity is expressed within each piece, each different from the last – an “industrialized non-conformity.”

This large spaghetti pendant, one in an edition of 10, is an excellent example of Pesce’s approach. Here Pesce squeezes his beloved silicon into thin threads, which he trails and layers into an imperfect supple bowl. It is supported internally with red plastic. The piece is in good condition with a few minor losses. It is in full working condition have be re-wired and PAT tested.
