An elegant and important pair of wall lights in brass and "pulegoso" glass, in the style of Gio Ponti, Italian manufacture, 1930s
When light is projected from the wall into a room at eye level, it is essential that it comes from an object of taste and quality—an object whose aesthetic enhances the sense of well-being and pleasure that the light itself evokes.
We present a pair of wall lights in brass and glass, dating from the 1930s. Their design draws on decorative motifs and references that closely follow the unique and forward-looking path opened by Gio Ponti. This influence is particularly evident in the crest, formed by a sinuous brass line—an element that can be read either as a tribute to the natural flow of ocean waves or as a symbol of modernity, evoking the dynamism and optimism once inspired by radio waves.
The materials used in these appliqués are equally remarkable. The brass is naturally aged and of substantial weight, while the glass selected for the diffusers stands out for its quality and character. The curved surface features an uncommon texture that, when illuminated, reveals a striking depth, lending a harmonious and sculptural presence to the lamp—hallmarks of authentic Murano glass.
Offered as a pair, these lights are ideal for creating a refined atmosphere in a living room or a spacious entryway.
