Biography:
Jacques Blin is a French ceramist from the 20th Century. His style is characterized by birds, animals and daily life illustrations.
His drawings meet with success because of their touching and also comic style. The curves and the shapes are accurate and really equilibrate. By the technique of intaglio (gravure on dry land), the enamel obtains a parietal aspect.
Jacques Blin was born in France in 1920. He obtained an engineer diploma, however he chose to live from his passion. So in 1954, he founded his own ceramic workshop. The same year, he exhibited his creations during shows dedicated to ceramists and art professions, and at the Maison de la Chimie (a place dedicated to chemistry). He was a really committed to defending art ceramic, he became vice-president of the international academy of ceramic in Geneva. He was also president at the Chambre Syndicale of ceramists and art workshop during twenty years. -
