Description Outstanding carved helix table lamps in bleached mahogany with gilt accents, gilt bases and caps, and original gilt shades and finials. Glass diffusers support the shades. Each lamp uses a three-way mogul bulb. All original, except for new wiring. Designed by James Mont and manufactured by Frederick Cooper of Chicago, circa 1950s. Published in "James Mont: The King Cole Penthouse" by Todd Merrill, 2007. Overall 42" h x 20" in diameter; 37-3/4" h to top of glass diffuser; shade 19" in diameter at the top x 20" in diameter at the bottom x 15" h. Excellent condition; new wiring; wood and gilt in excellent condition; patina to necks and socket covers; minor wear and age to original gilt shades; back side of one shade has been torn and repaired, as shown in the last photo.
