Signed Karl Springer Table Lamp in Buff-Colored Snakeskin
-
Description
This refined table lamp was designed by Karl Springer, circa 1980. Springer, who began his career by crafting small desktop accessories, took inspiration from the 1920s and 1930s and helped fuel the renewed interest in Art Deco during the 1980s. Creating refined design objects in exotic materials, Springer's work can be identified by its uncompromising quality and luxurious finishes. Exemplifying Springer's design ethos, this lamp is impeccably covered in buff-colored snakeskin. The lamp's base is a hexagon which tapers upwards to a Lucite cap. Lustrous chrome fittings support a single Edison-based bulb. Newly rewired and fitted was a custom linen shade, this lamp would sit elegantly in any style of interior. The lamp retains its original label reading "Karl Springer" on the interior of the lamp. Excellent condition.
