Brass lacquered Maison Jansen Pineapple tree floor lamp 1970s
-
Description
This is a rare Maison Jansen floor lamp made in France in the late 1970s. The floor lamp is incredibly dynamic, featuring thin sheaves of bright brass peeling open like the leaves around ananas, or pineapples, similarly made of brass. The first impression of the piece is that it’s exploding with golden sheen. Up close, you can begin to appreciate the fine craftsmanship—the tiny scalloped edges to each leaf, the smooth thickness of the pineapple bark, the lifelike texture of the spindly stems. The lamp embodies the height of Hollywood Regency design, highly decorative and stylish. I have 2 pieces, so it is also available as a pair.
