The story behind:
At the peak of the roaring twenties, in 1928, Max Le Verrier (1891-1973) designed after a live model, the famous CLARTÉ, a woman with an illuminated ball - the main piece of his artistic work.
In fact, he needed three different models:
one for the head, one for the upper part of the body and one for the legs. For this last part he asked an African-American dancer who played in the shows of Josephine BAKER.
The work picks up the theme of the female nude in a very aesthetic way and at the same time symbolize the time of the Art Deco with its typical hairstyle and simplicity in their line.
This decorative, illuminated figure is available in 4 sizes:
a nearly life-size bronze in 1.60 meters one version with 85 cm, as well as 2 smaller versions in 65 cm (Lumina) and 38 cm (LUEUR LUMINEUSE). -
