Danish Mid-Century Modern table lamp by Michael Andersen
Gorgeous and very rare ceramic table lamp produced by Michael Andersen & Sons in Bornholm, Denmark in the 1970s. Circular base with graphic pattern colored in dark blue and black. The lamp is marked with the Michael Andersen logo symbolizing three fish and the model's number. The lamp has been rewired with a European plug - to be checked by a local electrician before put to use. New shade.
Measurements of the base without shade are 40 cm height and 29 cm diametre. The shade measures 41 cm in diametre and 31 cm height.
Michael Andersen (1859-1931) was educated as a ceramist at Lauritz Hjorth on the island of Bornholm Denmark. In 1890 Michael Andersen took over Th. Stibolt's ceramic production that dates back to 1771, and continued it in his own name. The logo with the three fish originates from Roenne's city arms and has been used ever since 1931.
