Description
This striking Mid-Century Modernist ceramic floor/table lamp, crafted in France circa 1960, is a harmonious blend of stunningly curated natural materials and modernist design principles. The ceramic body showcases an elegant sculptural form, featuring an illuminated cutout with a resin window that lends am amazing visual and functional quality to the piece. When lit, the cutouts cast intricate patterns of light and shadow through motifs achieved in resin, enriching the atmosphere of any space with a warm and inviting glow.
Adding to its charm is the naturalist-inspired resin shade, which balances organic textures with clean lines. The shade’s translucent nature enhances the lamp’s ability to diffuse light, creating a soft ambient effect that complements the well weighted base. Embedded within the shade are stunning amber hued feathers, gracefully suspended and preserved. Together, the materials and craftsmanship evoke both natural serenity and mid-century innovation.
Versatile in its application and scale, the lamp’s design allows it to function as either a floor lamp or table lamp, making it suitable for a range of interior settings. Perfect for modernist-inspired spaces, artistic environments, or eclectic interiors, this piece is a functional work of art that bridges the gap between form and utility.
As a testament to mid-century French design, this lamp embodies the era’s dedication to artisanal craftsmanship, unconventional materials, and the seamless integration of sculptural artistry into everyday objects. It’s an ideal choice for collectors and design enthusiasts seeking a distinctive piece to enhance and illuminate their living space. Newly rewired to American Standards, this lamp accommodates two edison base bulbs and one candelabra base bulb on the interior, achieving up to 260 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
