Pair of Model A1965/10202 counterweight ceiling lamps, designed by Paavo Tynell for Taito Oy. Originally designed for New York’s Finland House in 1948. Elegant in design and function, the lights are adjusted by an attractive pulley mechanism at canopy, and balanced by a solid brass weight. Striking perforated shades are made of polished brass, with light diffused by etched glass. Lights are in beautiful condition, each lamp and its components has been professionally polished with great care. 1940s.
Lamp shades measure 17.5” in diameter.
As shown, lamps have a 60” drop and may be adjusted. -
