Description

This stunning and graphic pair of sconces were realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features an obelisk form in faceted translucent glass with a shimmering centre composed of 24-karat gold flecks. This form is reiterated in the bottom finial that ascends from the cube of glass in the same clear gold Murano glass at its base. In the centre of the fixture, there is an inverse domed shade in pearlescent glass. Each sconce accommodates two LED based bulbs, providing more than ample luminosity for practically any space. With its clean modernist lines and classically inspired forms, these sconces would be a winning addition to any style of interior from quintessentially Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent condition.
