Stiffel Large Chinoiserie Ceramic and Brass Dragon / Foo Dog Lamps by Edwin Cole

$ 7,750
  • Description
    Large and stately Stiffel lamps by famed designer Edwin Cole, circa 1950s. We can't go anywhere with these lamps without a stranger stopping us to compliment them - the large, noticeable size, the crackle ceramic multi-tonal color, the brass chinoiserie details, and the dark octagonal angular base all come together to produce something unique and special. In fact, these lamps are one of the most rare and difficult Stiffel lamps to source likely passed on from generation to generation. And here we have a pair. Timeless design. True keepers.

    Large octagonal wood base lacquered in black contrasts the unique crackle lines of the sea green and gun metal ceramic bodies. Patinated brass dragons / foo dog heads and Asian Style fittings add an exotic and unique chinoiserie theme. Professionally rewired.

    The lamps have been professionally rewired. Bases have been touched up and are uniform and beautiful. Please advise if you would like a 3-way switch installed. Re-wiring for overseas use is available for an additional cost.
