H. 13 in;
H. 33.02 cm;

Description A charming and extremely rare desk lamp by Tiffany Studios, comprising a Nautilus shell shade mounted on on a decorated bronze base, the leading and bronze in a rich brown patina. The shade is mounted on a hinge and is adjustable. This lamp features its original Nautilus shell in addition to the unusual addition of an inset border of polished quartz sea pebbles; this model was typically sold with inset Tiffany Favrile Glass “Turtle Back” Tiles instead of these rare natural stones. They were likely picked up along the Long Island coast; Louis Comfort Tiffany frequently included natural materials like these translucent pebbles in his early designs, including for windows and a rare Tiffany lamp shade made entirely of tiny sea pebbles leaded together as if they were pieces of glass.
