Tommi Parzinger Style Chandelier

In the Style of Tommi Parzinger
Period 1950-1979
Description Elegant Silver Chandelier evocative of the renowned German furniture designer and painter, Tommi Parzinger. This beautiful 16-arm piece has brand new white candle covers and is subtly inlaid with ebony spacers that perfectly compliment its silver frame and arms.

Born and raised in Germany in the early twentieth century, Tommi Parzinger studied at one of the renowned Kunstgewerbeschule, a prestigious type of vocational arts school that existed throughout Central Europe, where he discovered his passion and talent for design. Parzinger eventually emigrated to Manhattan to escape the rise of fascism in Europe in the early 1930s and rose through the ranks of the New York furniture and art scene. He designed for revolutionary retailer Rena Rosenthal, whose trendsetting Madison Avenue storefront has often been highlighted as bringing European Modernism into the American market and consciousness. After starting his own company and opening his own showroom, Parzinger Originals, Tommi Parzinger began to hone his designs and craft into what is referred to today as high-style modernism, which is noted for its usage of simple and refined designs brought to life with high end materials, such as polished metals and lacquered woods. This unpretentious, yet sophisticated design garnered him the appreciation and business of some of the wealthiest people of the era, including members of the Ford, Mellon, and du Pont families and even A-list celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe.
