Description
A Rare Pair of 18th Century Octagonal Italian Transitional Baroque to Rococo Tortoiseshell Mirrors, the precious shell moulded by heating and shaping and then overlaying onto a silver leaf bole layer to create a shimmering effect, both with their original mirror plates intact and the tortoise frames bordered with an intricately carved giltwood foliate motif around the outside and inside borders
