Description
A striking Louis XVI style gold gilt mirror hand-crafted in France in the 19th century. This elegant mirror boasts the original mirror glass, still beautiful and showing signs of foxing and a few marks. The hand-carved frame is topped with an ornate crest flanked by scrolling acanthus leaves, flowers, and horns o’plenty filled with flowers. The sides are detailed with a beautiful incised ribbed pattern and an inset border of fine beading.The quality gilt has gained a beautiful patina over the decades.
