Description A pair of mid-18th century Italian looking glasses.

Constructed in floral carved gold leaf giltwood, the shaped symmetrical swept frames having female mask mounts on a foliate ground, with internal reserves separating the mirror plates and grotesque male masks to the lower parts,
Italian, circa 1740.

Graham Child's 'World Mirrors 1650-1900', published by Sotheby's in 1990, shows a similar frame, ascribed to Tuscany on pp 269.
