Description
A Swedish Gustavian period giltwood mirror from the late 18th century with ribbon-carved crest and floral décor. This Swedish wall mirror features a rectangular giltwood frame, adorned with delicate beads and a twisted ribbon molding surrounding the mirror plate. The outer section of the frame attracts all the attention with its exquisite crest, carved with a tied ribbon, responding beautifully to the lower part of the mirror, adorned with a fluted motif, topped with a delicate swag of flowers. Highly influenced by the Louis XVI style, this mirror shows a neoclassical influence that will enliven any wall beautifully.
