Elegant armchair designed in 1975 by Afra & Tobia Scarpa from the Bergère Collection for the Maxalto factory. The seat is complete with pouf. La Bergère is a "classic" armchair designed with uprights in solid walnut wood. Some grooves in the legs serve as guides on which to "slide" the leather panels that make up the sides. The sides of the armchair and pouf are in hand-stitched leather. The containment parts, sides and backrest are padded with soft goose down and covered in beautiful leather.
From 1975 to the present day, Maxalto has established itself as a point of reference in the world of furniture, through careful research into materials and processing techniques, particularly on wood, with the aim of revealing all its expressive qualities. The high level of craftsmanship and the absolute quality of the products is already stated in the name, which in an Italian dialect ("massa alto") indicates "the highest".
The armchair and the pouf are in good vintage condition and, because of its age, have scratches on both the body and the leather. The pouf is slightly faded due to the contact with the sun, but has been intervened with restorative oil.
The elegant armchair is suitable for large environments due to its great training, and is suitable for living rooms or studios of representation.
