Spanish Chair by Børge Mogensen
-
Description
Børge Mogensen designed his iconic Spanish Chair in 1958. Shown that year at a cabinetmakers exhibition in Copenhagen, it went into production by Fredericia Stolefabrik. The solid oak frame is durable and functional: Wide armrests, inspired by the form of chairs he had seen during his travels through Spain, provide a place for glasses or small plates, obviating the need for occasional tables. The seat and backrest are formed of patinated saddle leather attached with brass buckles.
