Bench And Side Chair In Cherry Wood And Off-White Upholstery, Italy 1950's
-
Description
This set consisting of a two-seater bench and matching side chair brings a flair from times long past.
Design
The traditional wood joints and the upwardly curving corners and legs look classic, while the trapezoid backrests feel mid-century.The wood used to make the frames is cherry and has subtle veins in various parts. The color hue ranges from somewhat light to the reddish brown, typical for cherry wood. We see beautiful flame drawings and knots in the legs.Due to the corners of the frame curling up near the seat, there is a smooth transition from the wood to the upholstery of the seat. Both the bench and the chair have been reupholstered and the fabric is attached to the back of the backrests with patinated brass decorative nails. Finally, the cherry wood looks warm and has been blessed with a pleasant patina over the years.
Condition
The condition of the set is good, but it will of course pass through our studio for a final touch up to remove some imperfections while maintaining its overall vintage appearance.
