Exceptional pair of custom Modern Classicism style armchairs designed by Carl Malmsten (1888-1972) each having tall and tapering squared backs, scrolling arms, and cabriole legs; masterfully crafted by Hjalmar Jackson in birch, with finely carved details such as feathered scrolling armrests, scallops an shells on the seat rails, and scrolling paw feet; Sweden, 1920s; branded signature. The chairs come with Malmsten's original elevation for them.
