Description
Pennsylvania, probably Philadelphia, ca. 1765-1775.
Mahogany.
Condition: Repairs to stile and crest rail, original slip-seat; retains an early finish.
Having a shell-carved shaped crest with carved volutes flanked by swept-back ears above fluted stiles supported by cabriole legs with shell carved knees ending on carved ball and claw feet.
Provenance: Haskell Family, prominent collectors of American furniture. -
